Why is End Grain machining different?
Why is End Grain machining different?
The End Grain construction technique orientates the wood fibres vertically. The blade tends to go between the fibres rather than across them: marks are less visible and the surface is gentler on knife edges than very hard materials.
Protects the blade — The surface absorbs the cutting action better and helps to preserve sharpness.
Reduces visible marks — The fibres recover better after use than a surface with a longitudinal grain.
Lasts for decades — The thick and compact construction is designed to last for years of food preparation.

Care and maintenance
Care and maintenance
Daily cleaning: wash it by hand with lukewarm water and dry it thoroughly with a cloth. Never put it in the dishwasher, never soak it. For stubborn stains, use coarse salt and half a lemon.
Periodic care: when the wood appears drier or dull, apply a thin layer of the included cream and let it absorb. Depending on the frequency of use, repeating the treatment every two or three months may be sufficient. A few simple steps help preserve its stability, color, and beauty over time.
